Happy 2nd Birthday Lainey Grace

My little birthday diva. Lainey Grace turns two on December 20, 2008. I can't believe it has been two years since we brought our 2nd little princess into this world. I feel so blessed to have 2 beautiful, healthy, sweet little girls that I can call my own.
We celebrated Miss Lainey's birthday on December 19 @ Not Too Little Play Center. The kids had a blast. As you might have notice from the pictures, Lainey loves SpongeBob and had a great night. Thanks for everyone who came and helped make her 2nd birthday a hit. I hope we have many more to spend with her. She is her own little world all wrapped up into a little sassy package. She loves jewelry, fru fru skirts, spongebob, purses, and just being free to do as she pleases. She is a bundle of joy and I don't know what we would do without her in our family. She sure keeps us laughing.
I am also so proud of Annalia for being the best big sister in the world. Lainey looks up to her so much and she is a great big sister. Don't get me wrong, they have their little tiffs, but all in all they love one other very much. Annalia helped me do a lot to prepare for Lainey's big event and I am so thankful she was not jealous a bit. She was so excited for Lainey.
God has shown us once again how blessed Brad and my self are and we are forever grateful. -RM

"Hark the Harry Angels sing"

Annalia had her annual Christmas program for school coming up, so as a good mom I ask her to sing me her songs so I could help her practice. She was so excited about her upcoming event that she belted out as loud as she could her songs. When she came to Her grand finale she sang "Hark the Harry Angels Sing, Glory to the Newborn King". I could not help myself, I burst out laughing and she said "momma, why are you laughing" I replied with the correct words and she quickly replied back with " no momma the angels are all named Harry." I them explained that this was in fact not the correct way to sing this song and she learned the right way and sang with great joy on the night of her great event. I am so proud of her. She has learned a lot in the 4 young years she has been with us and I thank God everyday for her. -RM

A Few Christmas photos

2 year olds

This is one big reason why not to put a 2 year old in the bath tub hungry. The other night I put both girls in the bath tub for their nightly bath. It was a little early, so I hadn't feed them dinner yet. The plan was to get them bathed, feed and then put them to bed so I could go to bed early as I had been awake for 30 plus hours. I stepped out of the room to grab a towel and I hear Annalia scream "Momma, Lainey is eating the soap" I ran back into the bathroom to see Lainey spitting out the soap and saying "I hungry Momma" All I could do was laugh, the look on her face was priceless. I took a picture of the soap, but not her because she was naked. Hope ya'll get a good laugh as I did.--RM

Christmas is in the air

I kicked the season off with a 5am shopping spree on "black friday" to Wal-Mart in Ocean Springs and by 12pm we were in Spanish Fort, AL at the Bass Pro Shop. I know you must be thinking that I am crazy, but we went to the Bass Pro Shop to see Santa and his workshop. It was so neat. Annalia loved Santa, but Lainey was not to sure about him. We had a picture made and then it was time to grab a bite to eat and head back to Mississippi. The girls were exhausted at this point and slept all the way home. Which made for a very peaceful ride. It's such a wonderful time of the year! I can hardly keep all the girls presents a secret. I think that I get more excited than they do about all their stuff. I have been shopping like crazy and just enjoying the Christmas feeling in the air. This past friday night, we went to Bellingrath Gardens and had a blast. The girls both loved all the lights and flowers. It was such a joy to see how their little faces lite up with pure excitement from all the lights. We even saw Santa from a distance. Again, I ask Lainey if she wanted to see Santa and she still stuck to her guns and said "no Thanks, please." Well, that's all for now. --RM

Seasonal Plans

It's November and Christmas is fastly approaching. As Brad and I sat down to discuss our Christmas plans for the girls, we felt the excitement in the air. The more we looked the the Toys 'R' Us catalog, the more we wanted toys. So this year, we have decided to buy each other a toy to bring back a little of our inner child. I think this is going to be fun and I can't wait until Christmas.
Annalia wants everything in site. She loves all the commercials that come on TV. All we hear from her is "it's OK mommy if you don't have the money to buy all the stuff that I need, because whatever you can't but, Santa will." This is when I sat her down and explained to her that Santa doesn't have a large income either and Christmas is not about the gifts. She quickly said "I know momma, It's a birthday party for Jesus, but since he never shows up, I get all the presents." I love the mind of 4 year olds. She truly amazes me daily.
On the other hand, Little Lainey loves bracelets and purses. She carries her purse everywhere, even to bed. She ask for money now to put in her purse and has started to count. It is so cute.
Well this is all for now...RM

Sponge Bob

We were in Wal-mart the other day and as we passed the little girls clothing section, Lainey yells out "SpongeBob". She had spotted some SpongeBob PJ's and she was not leaving without them. Since she never really ask for anything I, being the sucker I am, bought them. She was the happiest kid in the world. You would have thought she won a million dollars or something. All I heard the rest of the way in the store was "thinks momma" aka Thanks momma. She was all smiles. She wouldn't even let the cashier scan them. I had to take the tag off. She had made a new best friend, so as I am putting her in the car to go home she says " No momma, I wear SpongeBob Jammies now" I then tell her no baby you can wear them after I wash them. She them replies "wipes peese" She had it all figured out. She was going to clean them with a baby wipe so she could wear them now. I thought that this was so cute, so I let her clean them and put them on her. She was so Happy. --RM

New Additions are God's Greatest Gifts...

We have welcomed a new addition to our family. My Brother and his wife had a baby boy on Monday, October 13th. He weighed in at 8lbs 1 ounce and 20.5 inches long. He is so cute and his big brother is so proud. It has been so exciting and has made me want another baby. There is nothing like the smell and touch of a new baby. As a good friend once told me "if I could only bottle up that new baby smell, I would be rich." But then reality sets in when its 3am and you are running on fumes and he is crying and your body is aching and you stop and say to yourself "what was I thinking" this is when I realize, do I really want to do this all over again. And my answer is....I don't know... ~ME

A few updated pictures...

FALL IS IN THE AIR

It's finally Fall time and we are full speed ahead. Annalia is enjoying pre-k and improving her skills daily. She has started dance and loves it. It is so cute to watch all the little 4 year olds dance. They are absolutely precious. Lainey on the other hand has started to speak in full sentences now. She went running in the kitchen the other day to show grandma her new purchase she said " look maw, I got new shows" My mom was shocked at how well she said it and how excited she was about them. She loves shoes, hats and bracelets. She is my girly, girl!

As for Brad and I we are getting ready to start our new home. We have been talking with the builders daily and picking out colors. I feel like I am overwhelmed at times. So many decisions and so little time. I didn't realize how much stuff is involved in building a house. Brad and I are so passive that we have a hard time making the final decisions.

This weekend we went to the Corn Field Maze aka Seward Farms and had a blast. The girls loved all the outdoor activities. I even got in on a little of the fun myself. We enjoyed being together as a family. This was the first weekend in a while that we were both off together the whole weekend. It was awesome and we had a lot of family bonding!

Well, that's it for now.--ME--

Moving ON!

Well, Life has been a little busy this week. We have been packing, packing, and more packing. I feel like I own a million things. We are officially moving out of our current home as we have sold it. We are so excited as the next step for us is to build our first home together. We are scared and excited at the same time. Life is great for us and we couldn't be any happier.

As for the girls, they are excited and wondering why we are taking all their things. Their little minds just don't comprehend that we are not going to be living in this home anymore. Tonight is our last night here. As we only have our mattresses and a few clothing items left in the house, it seems weird.
Annalia said "Mommy, why are the walls repeating what I am saying to you?" She was referring to the echo heard throughout our empty home.
And as for Lainey, she kept saying "no my toys, peese keep" I told her that we are keeping them, just in a box and not all over the place. She eventually got the point and her and Annalia both started helping us pack.
As far as where we are moving, it's my Mom's house. She is gracious enough to allow us to live with her as we are building our home. We are very thankful that we have such great friends and family that have helped us along the way. I truly believe that God takes care of those who take care of him. signing off for now...RM

Little Minds

Ok so here it goes. Lainey cracked me up the other day and I thought I would share it with ya'll so ya'll could laugh too! Annalia was at school and Lainey and I were playing with the dollhouse. As usual Lainey likes to rearrange the furniture from room to room and the dolls as well. I am trying to teach her the correct names of all the furniture and the proper place for each piece. As I am teaching her the difference between the dinning room chair and the living room chair, she looks up at me and says "look momma, living room chair, I sit" I immediately praise her for understanding the difference and then notice that she is trying to sit in the chair. It was the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. She kept moving the chair as she was trying to fit into it. I was laughing so hard I cried and she look at me with this look as if she thought she was in trouble for making me cry. I quickly regained control of myself and began explaining to her that the chair was for the dolls not us and her reply was "ok momma" as if she totally understood.

As I sat down later and really thought about this, I began to think about how sweet an innocent a child is and how blessed I am to have this opportunity to have one. I love my babies.. RM

Weekend

So the weekend is about over and I am just sitting down to relax. Friday started off with my hubby's birthday. We had a little cake and he blew out his candles as Annalia sang him her own version of Happy Birthday. This is a little how it goes...
"Happy Birthday to Daddy,
Happy Birthday to Daddy,
Happy Birthday to Daddy because I love you, your the best and it's your birthday,
Happy Birthday to my Daddy"
It was so cute and he was touched.

On another note Annalia has learned to spell her first name, yes only her first name as you all know that it will take many months maybe years to learn our last name thanks to all the letters. She is so proud of herself that she has been spelling it for everyone including our cashier at Wal-mart.

Lainey is learning to dress herself along with all the accessories. She thinks that she has to have a purse with every outfit. The other day we were about to walk out the door and she starts yelling wait, wait as if something was majorly wrong. I turn around to look at her and she is pointing back inside, so I as her what, she replies " my puuuurse, peese" ( my purse please). She had forgotton her purse on the couch and was not about to leave without it.

Well, that is all for now as I need to get to bed.--RM

Day 2 of Blogging

Ok so today is day 2 of this blogging thing so I guess I will add a little more of my thoughts to this site. Last night I had to work with little rest before I arrived. Needless to say it made for a long night. My 12 hour shift felt like it lasted 24 hours instead of actually 12. I could barely hold my eyes open as I was driving home. All I could think of was my pillow and my warm bed. So I hurry home and take my usual shower and then it's off to bed I go. Well, I fell asleep instantly for about 45 minutes, then I was wide awake. Now I am listening to 2 kids run around like crazy because they are full of engery and cooped up in this house. Now I am thinking of ways to entertain them for a bit so I can get a few minutes of shut eye before heading back to work for another 12 hours. Annalia comes up with the idea that we need to play hide N seek. I agree and off we go to run about the house like crazy kids and hide from one another. It is now my turn to find the girls. I count to 10 and off I go through the house to hunt them down, as I get closer to them Lainey starts giggling and jumps from the covers on the bed. I grab her and she is so excited. I then ask her " Do you know where Annalia is?" and she replies "EIA (aka Annalia) is here, pointing to the bathroom. I can hear Annalia bursting at the seams with laughter as we find her. After all the fun was over, I decided to sit down and think about how lucky I am to have these two great girls in my life. Now matter how tired I may be, my 2 little ones always find some little bit of energy in me and keep me going. I just want to close with the thought of how wonderful life is to have such great little bundles of joys. I don't know what I would do without them. Hope you all have a great day and enjoy reading my thoughts as I type them down for you. May God Bless and I will be back soon to add a little more to this site.... Signing off---RM

NEW

Ok, well where do I start. First of all I am new to this blogging thing so please be patient with me as I learn this new world. I am open to suggestions and tips to this world as well, so feel free to help me out.
I want to start out by telling everyone a little about how things are going in our lives at this time. Annalia started her first day of pre-k today and I am so excited. She was a big girl and dressed herself. She is growing up so fast. Lainey on the other hand is still my little baby as I like to call her. She is learning new things each day. SHe loves her "EIA"(annalia) as she calls her and did not want to leave her at school today. It was so sweet. They hugged and kissed a bunch of times before I had to pull them apart. Nothing makes me smile more than to see both of their faces light up with excitement to be with one another. Don't get me wrong they have ther fighting moments as well, but the good moments out weigh the bad. I love my girls and am excited to start this site so all of our friends and family can enjoy them too.
